This study aims to explore the teachings of leadership in the Hindu epic Mahabharata and their relevance to Hindu religious education. The research focuses on analyzing the leadership values exemplified by key characters such as Yudhistira, Arjuna, and Krishna, and how these values can be integrated into the curriculum of Hindu religious education to shape the character and morality of students. Using a qualitative research approach with descriptive-analytical methods, the study

examines primary sources such as the Bhagavad Gita and the Mahabharata, as well as secondary sources including books, journals, and scholarly articles. Content analysis is employed to categorize, interpret, and analyze the data, identifying patterns and meanings related to Hindu leadership teachings.

The findings reveal that the Mahabharata offers profound lessons on leadership based on dharma (duty), integrity, justice, and responsibility. Characters like Yudhistira exemplify fairness and wisdom, while Krishna provides spiritual guidance on visionary leadership. These values are highly relevant in modern contexts, emphasizing the importance of self-awareness, self-control,and ethical decision-making. The study also highlights the effectiveness of integrating Mahabharata stories into Hindu religious education through storytelling, interactive discussions, and role-playing, which help students internalize leadership values and apply them in daily life.

In conclusion, the research underscores the significance of Hindu leadership teachings in shaping responsible and ethical leaders. By incorporating these values into education, Hindu religious learning can contribute to the development of future leaders who are not only spiritually grounded but also capable of addressing contemporary global challenges with wisdom and integrity.
