Abstract

ABSTRACT

 

This study explores the implementation of the values contained in the Lubdaka teachings in Hindu religious education at SD No. 1 Kuta. The Lubdaka story, derived from the Siwa Purana, conveys profound spiritual and moral values, such as self-awareness, atonement, environmental respect, perseverance, and devotion to God. These values are highly relevant to Hindu education, particularly in shaping students character and ethical behavior. However, the current Hindu religious education often focuses on theoretical aspects, such as memorizing scriptures and rituals, neglecting practical applications and internalization of these values in daily life. This research aims to address this gap by integrating Lubdaka's teachings into the curriculum through innovative and interactive learning methods. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this research collected data through in-depth interviews with Hindu religion teachers, students, and school principals, as well as participatory observation and document analysis. The findings highlight the importance of integrating Lubdaka's values into Hindu religious education to create a more holistic and meaningful learning experience. For instance, self-awareness and introspection can be taught through reflective journaling and role-playing, while environmental respect can be fostered through tree planting and clean-up activities. Similarly, perseverance and devotion can be cultivated through meditation and participation in religious ceremonies. The study concludes that the values of the Lubdaka story can significantly enhance Hindu religious education by not only providing theoretical knowledge but also encouraging students to internalize and apply these values in their daily lives. This approach aligns with the goals of Hindu education, which aim to develop students with strong character, ethical behavior, and spiritual awareness. The research contributes to the development of more effective and engaging teaching methods for Hindu religious education, particularly in elementary schools.
